Illinoia azaleae
is a temperate North American and western European aphid species.
Common names. None recognized.
Distribution. This aphid is known from only temperate North America and western Europe.
Host associations. It is a specialist on plant species in the Eriaceae.
Economic importance. It is particularly important on azaleas (Rhododendron) and related species such as Vaccinium, Andromeda, Leucothoe, but it also has been found feeding on Viola, and Tulipa. It has been implicated in the transmission of 1 plant virus.
