Geoica setulosa
is an aphid species found in temperate habitats feeding on the roots of grasses.
Common names. None recognized.
Distribution. This aphid is globally distributed throroughout the temperate regions of the world in all but the coldest terrestrial habitats.
Host associations. It feeds on at least 20 species of grasses (Poaceae).
Economic importance. It is particularly important on Agrotis, Avena, Briza, Festuca, and Holcus (Poaceae), but also attacks Pistacia (Anacardiaceae) in Iran and some Asteraceae. It has not been implicated in the transmission of any plant virus.
