Cerataphis brasiliensis
is a tropical aphid species and a specialist on palms.
Common names. Palm aphid.
Distribution. This aphid is distributed globally throughout tropical regions of the world.
Host associations. It is limited to feeding on species of palm (Arecaceae), but has been recorded feeding on banana.
Economic importance. It is particularly important on coconut and oil-palm. It has not been implicated in the transmission of any plant virus.
